Video – Wontumi storms Police CID Headquarters with Godfred Dame

The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has arrived at the Police CID Headquarters. He was accompanied by former Attorney General Godfred Dame. They came to honor an official invitation from the Criminal Investigation Department.

Wontumi's visit follows a failed arrest attempt on May 23, 2025. The National Investigations Bureau and Ghana Police Service tried to arrest him at his home. About 20 heavily armed officers participated in the raid around 9:00 a.m., arriving in five vehicles.

Chairman Wontumi was also joined by Lawyer Andy Appiah-Kubi, a former MP for Asante-Akim North. In a viral video on X, he wore white clothing while attending the CID invitation.

Reports indicate that Wontumi's bank account was frozen due to alleged financial misconduct. This involves GH¢11 million cash withdrawal and GH¢39 million in securities transfer.
