Vim Lady slams hypocrisy as Naana Jane seeks medical treatment abroad

Ghanaian media personality Afia Pokua, known as Vim Lady, has commented on Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang's medical treatment abroad.

Her remarks come as discussions continue about Hon. Okudzeto Ablakwa’s push to stop government officials from seeking healthcare outside Ghana.

Vim Lady highlighted the irony of the situation. Naana Jane is in the same party as Ablakwa, who criticizes politicians for traveling abroad for treatment.

She said, “This is why I always say we should be careful how we politicize everything. Today, it is Naana Jane; yesterday, it was Dr. Bawumia. Tomorrow, who knows who it will be?” This statement was made on her Gyaso Gyaso programme on Okay and monitored by MyNewsGh.

Vim Lady recognized that Ghana needs to improve its healthcare system. However, she noted that it currently lacks essential facilities for critical conditions.

“We can’t pretend that Ghanaian hospitals have all the necessary equipment,” she stated. She added that even government officials know this and travel abroad when necessary.
