We'll constitute committee to audit permits issued by ex-Lands Minister - Murtala Muhammed

In a recent statement, Murtala Muhammed, the Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, announced plans to form a committee tasked with auditing permits that were previously issued by his predecessor. This initiative aims to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of land resources. Muhammed emphasized the need to scrutinize these permits to identify any irregularities or potential abuses of power that may have occurred during the former minister's tenure.

The audit will seek to review all land grants and concessions granted in recent years, focusing particularly on their compliance with established regulations and guidelines. The minister noted that this step is essential for restoring public trust in the ministry's operations and maintaining integrity in land management practices.

As part of this effort, Muhammed has called on stakeholders, including civil society organizations and local communities, to contribute their insights and findings related to land use issues. This collaborative approach underscores the government's commitment to ensuring fair resource distribution while addressing any discrepancies from past administrations.
