We'll proceed to ECOWAS Community Court to seek resolution on Ahmed Suale's murder if... - GJA

The President of the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Albert Kwabena Dwumfour, has reaffirmed their commitment to justice for Ahmed Suale.

Suale was an investigative journalist who was murdered in January 2019. His death caused outrage both nationally and internationally.

On April 23, Mr. Dwumfour briefed the press about the case. He noted that one suspect is currently on trial. However, many questions about the case remain unanswered.

“We are still following the Ahmed Suale case closely,” he said. “Our efforts to get clarity from the Police have not been successful.”

He urged the Ghana Police Service to provide regular updates on the case. He emphasized that there is significant public interest in this matter.

Mr. Dwumfour stated that if local efforts fail, they will seek external intervention. “We will only change our position when we are convinced justice is near,” he added.

The GJA plans to take the matter to the ECOWAS Community Court of Justice if necessary. They are also supported by international partners like FAJ and IFJ in seeking justice for Suale.

Ahmed Suale was a member of Tiger Eye PI when he was killed. His murder continues to prompt calls for justice from advocates worldwide.
