The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has shifted its focus from internal matters involving former Dome-Kwabenya MP, Adwoa Safo, to addressing the growing concerns over an alleged drug trafficking scandal.
Speaking on Sunday, NPP General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong announced the postponement of a scheduled meeting originally set for Monday, April 7, citing the national significance of the scandal.
Kodua emphasized that the party would not entertain discussions about Adwoa Safo's disciplinary issues at this time, stressing the need for transparency and answers from the government regarding the scandal. He also criticized the government's silence and the lack of updates from security agencies, describing it as “worrying” and “embarrassing.”
Meanwhile, Adwoa Safo and her supporters showed up at the NPP headquarters, unaware of the postponement. She later expressed disappointment over the lack of official communication from the party’s Disciplinary Committee.
