We’ll ensure lasting peace in Bawku – Asantehene

Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II is committed to bringing peace to Bawku.

His efforts come after attempts to resolve the ongoing conflict were delayed.

This delay is due to the complexities of a long-standing chieftaincy dispute.

Despite this, he remains hopeful that recent mediation talks will succeed.

He spoke during a meeting with a UK delegation at Manhyia Palace.

The Asantehene emphasized the need for peace to foster development.

"My duty, along with traditional leaders, is to ensure peace everywhere," he said.

He added that resolving conflicts allows the government to function effectively.

Recently, there have been communal conflicts in northern Ghana near Burkina Faso.

However, he assured that efforts are underway for lasting peace in Bawku.
