The Ashanti Regional Police Commander, DCOP Emmanuel Teye-Cudjoe, is determined to catch the military personnel involved in a fatal shooting. This incident occurred in Nyinahin and resulted in one death and three injuries. It has caused widespread outrage and calls for justice.
During a visit to Nyinahin on April 25, DCOP Teye-Cudjoe condemned the shooting as a criminal act. He promised that the police would ensure the perpetrators are held accountable. He emphasized that their investigation would be impartial to uphold justice.
The confrontation reportedly happened between military personnel and mourners. This shooting has raised concerns about excessive force by uniformed officers. DCOP Teye-Cudjoe noted that one soldier's actions should not reflect on the entire Ghana Armed Forces.

Nana Amapene Boateng Twum II, the local chief, urged police action for justice. “The culprit must be punished,” he said. He stressed that no one is above the law, even if provoked.
