Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has reaffirmed the government's commitment to the IMF programme. He also emphasized the importance of completing Ghana's debt restructuring efforts.
Dr. Forson stated, “We have taken concrete steps to correct missed benchmarks.” He noted that results from these actions will be visible soon.
He acknowledged past failures in meeting certain IMF targets. However, he assured that corrective measures are now in place.
Regarding debt restructuring, he mentioned significant progress with external creditors. The focus is on finalizing individual bilateral agreements to stabilize the economy.
Dr. Forson urged Germany to support Ghana in speeding up this process. Securing these agreements is crucial for the country's economic recovery.
