The Movement for Change (M4C) supports the constitutional process for suspending the Chief Justice. They emphasize the importance of justice and due process.
In a statement from April 29, 2025, M4C said, “We assert that Ghana's constitution outlines how to remove a Chief Justice under Article 146.”
They noted that the President acted with guidance from the Council of State. This action was based on a prima facie case and followed proper steps.
M4C highlighted that allowing the Chief Justice to respond shows compliance with due process. They support the five-member committee handling this petition as a constitutional move.
The group urged political parties, especially NPP and NDC, to avoid politicizing this issue. They want legal processes to proceed without interference.
M4C also called for more transparency in future proceedings. They expressed a desire for a clearer process.
The group expressed disappointment with the Ghana Bar Association’s stance. They were shocked by GBA's call for the President to suspend the Chief Justice's suspension.
M4C reaffirmed its commitment to defending Ghana’s democratic framework.
