Minister of State for Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, has extended his best wishes to former IGP Dr. George Akuffo Dampare following his removal from office.
Speaking on The KeyPoints on March 15, Mr. Ofosu emphasized that Dampare's career prospects remain strong due to his expertise and relatively young age.
He clarified that the decision was not linked to any misconduct but rather part of the President’s effort to realign security leadership.
While COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno has taken over, the change has sparked mixed reactions, with some officers welcoming it and civil society groups raising concerns.
Mr. Ofosu stressed that leadership transitions are routine in governance, urging the public to see them as a normal part of institutional restructuring.
