Dr. Kabiru Tia Mahama, MP for Walewale, has made a call to the government. He wants consistent handling of public office conduct. He stressed that the same standards used for Cecilia Dapaah should apply to Sammy Gyamfi. Gyamfi is the Acting CEO of the Ghana Gold Board.
In an interview with Channel One Newsroom, Dr. Mahama referenced President John Mahama’s actions regarding Dapaah. The president asked her to resign after a scandal involving large sums of money found in her home. Dr. Mahama believes this precedent should guide similar situations.
He stated, “The president took a decision to ask Madam Cecilia Dapaah to resign.” He noted that if a senior official speaks against Dapaah's conduct, they should be held to the same standard.
Dr. Kabiru Tia emphasized fairness and accountability in governance. He warned against selective disciplinary actions based on political alignment.
He concluded by saying, “We cannot measure Cecilia Dapaah on one standard and Mr. Sammy Gyamfi on another.”
