We cleared legacy debts, promoted long-serving staff—Obour on Ghana Post leadership

Bice Osei Kuffour, known as Obour, was the Managing Director of Ghana Post. He defended his time at the postal service in a recent interview. He stated he left the organization strong and healthy.

Obour spoke on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, which MyNewsgh monitored. He said, “I left Ghana Post at its highest level.” He emphasized that continuity with skilled personnel is essential for progress.

He acknowledged inheriting financial challenges when he took office. However, he noted efforts were made to address these issues. “When I took over as MD, there was a legacy debt,” he explained.

Obour highlighted his focus on staff welfare during his tenure. Many employees had served 15 to 18 years without promotion. In 2023, he promoted several long-serving staff members.

Earlier in March, Obour announced his resignation from Ghana Post Limited. He shared a post on Facebook about his departure.

He began as Managing Director on January 4th, 2022. In his post, he described it as an honor to serve in this role.

Under his leadership, Ghana Post made strides in digitalization and efficiency. He expressed gratitude to former President Nana Akufo-Addo for the opportunity.

Obour also thanked Hon. Ursula Owusu and the Board of Directors for their support. He appreciated the dedication of Ghana Post's management and staff during his tenure.
