We got quite a few things wrong – Bawumia apologises for NPP’s 2024 election performance

Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has apologized to NPP members. He addressed the party's performance in the 2024 general elections.

"We did not get everything right. We got quite a few things wrong," he said in London. He expressed hope for improvement if given another chance.

The apology follows a significant electoral loss for the NPP. The party is currently reflecting on its internal issues.

An internal review committee, led by Professor Mike Oquaye, has completed its assessment. However, the findings have not yet been released.

Many in the NPP see Bawumia’s acknowledgment as crucial for unity and credibility. He urged members to move past their mistakes and focus on rebuilding.

During a recent event in the Volta Region, he emphasized unity and grassroots engagement. This is essential for restoring the party's fortunes before the 2028 elections.

“Let us all rise and rebuild together,” Bawumia said. He believes victory in 2028 is achievable with talent and determination.

He acknowledged the recent defeat but stressed it should not hinder progress. "What matters is how we rise from this setback," he stated.

Dr. Bawumia highlighted that strengthening grassroots presence is vital. This will help reconnect with voters and regain public trust.
