Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the former Vice President, is the NPP's 2024 flagbearer. He recently reflected on the party’s time in government. He acknowledged both successes and shortcomings.
During the NPP’s Thank You Tour, Dr. Bawumia praised their achievements. However, he admitted that not every goal was fully met. “We had a solid record of achievements, but not everything went right,” he said.
Speaking to supporters, he highlighted key successes. These included advancements in digitalisation and infrastructure development. He also mentioned economic reforms as significant accomplishments.
Dr. Bawumia expressed pride in transforming Ghanaians' lives. “The evidence of our progress can be seen in every sector,” he noted.
Despite these successes, some aspirations remain unmet due to governance realities. “We are not perfect, and no government is,” he told the crowd.
He pointed out challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and global economic pressures. These factors affected development pace but did not weaken their commitment.
Dr. Bawumia reassured party members about their dedication to service and innovation. “We learned valuable lessons and are better prepared for the future,” he added.
