We have failed – NPP Vice Chairman calls for total leadership overhaul

Dankwa Smith Butey, the First National Vice Chairman of the NPP, has called for change. He wants a complete replacement of the party’s national executives. He believes none should remain after the disappointing 2024 elections.

Butey spoke on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem. He admitted that leadership failed to meet expectations. This was especially true after losing parliamentary seats.

He stated, “We all need to go home for new leaders.” Butey emphasized that while current executives have experience, they have not succeeded.

The NPP previously held 137 seats in Parliament but dropped to 88. Butey described this outcome as shocking and disheartening.

“From 137 seats to 88 is such a big blow,” he said. He did not expect to lose the election and found the result surprising. For over two weeks, he struggled to cope with the loss.
