In a surprising revelation, Maurice Ampaw, a legal practitioner and NPP member, has admitted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) feared John Dramani Mahama during the 2024 elections.

Speaking on Wontumi FM, Ampaw confessed that internally, the NPP saw Mahama as their biggest threat, despite the public narrative painted by the party.

According to Ampaw, the NPP’s strategy was to undermine Mahama’s image by portraying him as outdated and out of touch, knowing well that he was a formidable contender.

Ampaw’s honesty highlights the stark contrast between political tactics and the realities behind closed doors. He emphasized that the real goal was to sow doubt among voters, not because Mahama lacked potential, but because he had too much to offer.
