We‘ll introduce maintenance culture policy in health institutions  - Minister

The Minister of Health, Mr. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, has a new plan. He aims to improve maintenance in hospitals across the country.

He announced a policy change soon. This will require public health facilities to use part of their funds for maintenance. This includes equipment upkeep and infrastructure repairs.

During a surprise visit to the Accra Regional Hospital, he expressed his concerns. He was unhappy with the current state of maintenance, especially for medical equipment.

The hospital's MRI and CT scan machines have been out of service for over two years. Additionally, some washrooms are in poor condition and not usable.
