The Ministry of Education has vowed to address allegations of expired rice being distributed to Senior High Schools (SHSs).
Speaking on Joy FM, Ministry PRO Kwesi Kwarteng emphasized their commitment to student safety and announced investigations into the claims.
He urged the Ghana Police Service to support the probe.
This follows allegations by North Tongu MP Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa that 22,000 bags of expired rice were repackaged and distributed to SHSs in February. Ablakwa accused the National Food Buffer Stock Company and Lamens Investments Africa Limited of deliberate misconduct.
Kwarteng acknowledged the issue as valuable feedback and assured the public of thorough investigations to identify those responsible. He reiterated the Ministry’s dedication to student safety and service improvement.
