Moses Abor, a former NPP Greater Accra Regional youth organizer, has made a threat. He warned that the NPP might hold a naked demonstration. This would be in response to the arrest of Chairman Wontumi.
Wontumi was arrested by EOCO after visiting the CID headquarters on May 27. His arrest has sparked significant reactions within the party.
Chairman Wontumi, also known as Bernard Antwi Boasiako, faces serious allegations. He is accused of receiving $12 million from EXIM Bank. Alex Kwaku Tetteh, president of Citizen Eye Ghana, revealed this information.
Wontumi's lawyer stated that they received a writ of summons from EXIM Bank. This adds to his legal troubles following his interrogation by EOCO.
Henry Nana Boakye, the National Organiser of the NPP, spoke out against political harassment. He criticized President Mahama for intimidating party members. Boakye emphasized that they will not tolerate such actions.
He expressed frustration over how Wontumi was treated after cooperating with investigations. The NPP plans to respond strongly in the coming days against this intimidation.
