Former Deputy Attorney General Alfred Tuah-Yeboah has urged caution regarding government leaders.
This comes after President John Mahama suspended Chief Justice Gertrude Sackey Torkornoo.
The suspension follows the formation of a committee to investigate complaints against her.
On JoyNews' The Pulse, Tuah-Yeboah stressed the need to respect judicial independence. He highlighted the importance of following constitutional processes.
"We must be careful in how we treat heads of government," he said. Ghana has three main arms: the Executive, Legislature, and Judiciary. He expects the Council of State to help maintain balance.
The Chief Justice was suspended after three individuals petitioned President Mahama for her removal. They accused her of misconduct and incompetence.
The President has asked the Council of State for advice on this matter.
Tuah-Yeboah described their advice as "very poisonous."
Additionally, the President formed a five-member committee to investigate the allegations against the Chief Justice.
This committee includes respected figures from legal, military, academic, and public service sectors. They will conduct a thorough inquiry into the claims made against her.
