We must know who gave clearance – Hon Osei Nyarko demands answers on aircraft landings

Kennedy Osei Nyarko, the Ranking Member of Parliament’s Roads and Transport Committee, has announced plans to summon Transport Minister Joseph Bukari Nikpe. This is in response to concerns about two aircraft that recently arrived in Ghana under unclear circumstances.

Osei Nyarko spoke on the Asaase Breakfast Show. He stated that Parliament wants to investigate this issue properly. They do not want to surprise the minister with unannounced visits.

“We prefer to work through the minister,” he said. “He oversees these agencies and can provide us with information.”

This action is part of a larger effort for transparency and accountability. Osei Nyarko noted that this is just the first step in gathering more information.

“If nothing wrong happened, that’s fine,” he said. “But if something did, we need to know who was responsible and if protocols were followed.”

He stressed that this concern goes beyond party politics. The Ghanaian public deserves clarity on the situation.

“It’s not just a Minority issue,” he said. “All Ghanaians want to know exactly what happened.”
