Mr. Baffour Kojo Ahenkorah, President of the Renal Association of Ghana, has urged the government to prioritize early detection of kidney-related issues to save lives.

Speaking on Rainbow Radio, he highlighted the rising number of kidney patients reaching critical stages due to late diagnosis.

While praising the government's initiative to provide free dialysis to National Insurance Scheme beneficiaries, he stressed the need for a policy focused on timely detection.

Ahenkorah noted that many patients struggle financially, with some unable to afford treatment, while others remain unaware of their condition or avoid seeking help due to cultural beliefs.
