Veteran Ghanaian satirist and talk show host, Kwaku Sintim-Misa (KSM), praised Burkina Faso’s President, Ibrahim Traoré. He commended Traoré for opposing foreign exploitation of African resources.
On The KSM Show, KSM expressed admiration for the Burkinabé leader. Traoré is gaining attention for his anti-imperialist stance. He advocates for self-reliance in managing mineral resources.
KSM stated, “When you have a leader who says, ‘I want to focus on developing the minerals ourselves,’ that becomes a problem for developed countries.” He highlighted Traoré’s courage in prioritizing national interests over foreign interference.
This stance puts him at odds with global powers that rely on Africa's raw materials. KSM noted that such statements negatively impact developed countries seeking to exploit these resources.
He warned that leaders like Traoré often become targets due to their radical views. They disrupt the cycle of exploitation affecting Africa for decades.
“They monitor every president in Africa,” he said. “If you're radical and speak your mind, they target you even before you come to power.”
KSM urged Africans to pay attention to emerging leadership across the continent. He claimed the West keeps detailed profiles on African leaders and selects those they can manipulate.
“They even compromise your army! They know what they want and how to get it,” he concluded. “That’s why someone like Traoré becomes dangerous to them.”
