The Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA) has announced collaborative efforts with the Ministry of Roads and Highways to improve road networks leading to tourist sites, following complaints from tourists, particularly during the rainy season.
GTA's Chief Executive Officer, Akwasi Agyeman, acknowledged the challenges and emphasized ongoing efforts to enhance tourism infrastructure.
He highlighted the need for better roads to tourist destinations, especially during adverse weather conditions, to ensure smoother access.
Agyeman also revealed that nearly 600,000 tourists visited Ghana in the first half of 2024, signaling a positive year for the tourism sector.
