On April 10, 2025, the Ghana Police Service issued a statement. The IGP was accompanied by operations, investigation, and intelligence officers. Their goal was to gather information and assess security in the area.

The police confirmed that calm has returned after the April 9 incident. This was achieved through cooperation with the Ghana Armed Forces. The clash involved local youth and police forces.

One person named Fuseini Iddrisu lost his life during the violence. Five others were injured, including one police officer and one immigration officer. They are currently receiving medical care.

Property damage occurred as well. Two police vehicles were damaged along with rented accommodation at Binduri. Some houses belonging to police officers also suffered damage.

The IGP's visit served both operational and humanitarian purposes. He planned to express condolences to the deceased's family and visit the injured in hospitals. He also aimed to support officers who lost property due to the violence.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to restoring peace in Bawku. They assured the public of ongoing collaboration with relevant stakeholders.

“We will work with the Ghana Armed Forces, chiefs, and community leaders,” they stated in conclusion.
