Dennis Miracles Aboagye, the Communications Director for the 2024 Bawumia campaign, criticized the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC). He questioned their credibility in addressing illegal mining, known as galamsey, in Ghana.
In an interview with Joy News, Aboagye expressed his frustration. He noted that the NDC has struggled with galamsey despite previous warnings.
“Sometimes when I wake up and see galamsey issues, I laugh,” he said. “We told them what we were saying was right.”
Aboagye also targeted President John Mahama. He accused Mahama of sending mixed messages to illegal miners during his campaign.
He stated, “It is wrong for a presidential candidate to say he will release all galamseyers.” This statement reflects Mahama's stance on the issue and its impact on ongoing challenges.
