President John Dramani Mahama has announced the fulfillment of his 120-day social contract. This declaration comes before the 2024 general election.
On August 24, 2024, he launched the National Democratic Congress’ manifesto in Winneba. As a candidate, Mahama outlined 26 commitments for his first 120 days in office.
These commitments included scrapping various taxes and publishing a code of conduct for appointees. He also promised national dialogues on the economy and education. Other plans included establishing an export development council and covering academic fees for first-year tertiary students.
Additionally, he aimed to distribute free sanitary pads to students in primary and secondary schools.
In a national address in Accra on Wednesday, President Mahama reported that he has kept his promises to the people.
