The Births and Deaths Registry has issued a warning.
They advise the public not to engage with anyone claiming to be agents.
The Registry has not licensed any third parties to act on its behalf.
Deputy Registrar Nicholas Osei Bonsu spoke with Channel One News on May 21, 2025.
He stressed that all official services are handled by designated officers only.
"When you make a payment, keep your receipt," he said.
"Input your information, attach the receipt, and send it to us."
"You don’t have to pay anyone else," he added.
Mr. Osei Bonsu explained that the registration process is simple.
It does not require intermediaries or agents.
"We do not have any agents," he stated firmly.
"Our district and regional officers handle all registrations."
