The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has dismissed claims by Independent MP for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A-Plus, that the party sought his support in Parliament following his election victory.

In a statement dated January 6, 2025, signed by General Secretary Justin Kodua Frimpong, the NPP refuted allegations of engagement with A-Plus, emphasizing that no individual or group had been authorized to negotiate on the party’s behalf.

"We categorically deny meeting A-Plus or mandating anyone to engage him. These claims are unfounded and should be disregarded," the statement noted.

A-Plus had alleged in a Facebook post that Hon. Kennedy Agyapong approached him on the NPP's behalf, offering not to contest his seat in 2028 if he aligned with the party.

The NPP urged the public to dismiss such claims and reiterated its commitment to maintaining transparency.
