We will champion the 24-hour economy in our operations – Vice President

Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang affirmed the Ghana Armed Forces' (GAF) vital role in supporting the country's economy.

She spoke at the swearing-in ceremony of the Armed Forces Council on March 24. This event took place at the Defence Ministry. As Chairperson of the Council, she assured President Mahama that GAF's role goes beyond national security.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang emphasized that the Armed Forces will help keep economic activities running smoothly. She stated, “We want to assure our President that the GAF will continue to use humane and effective methods.”

She highlighted the importance of modern technology for enhancing operational efficiency. The Vice President expressed gratitude for the trust placed in GAF.

She reiterated their commitment to fulfilling their mandate. “We will carry out the mandate you have reposed in us,” she said.

Professor Opoku-Agyemang also promised ongoing dialogue with leadership when necessary. She assured President Mahama that GAF will support Ghana’s 24-hour economy effectively.
