We won’t appeal Adu-Boahene’s remand – Atta Akyea

Samuel Atta Akyea is the lawyer for Kwabena Adu-Boahene. Adu-Boahene is the former boss of the National Signals Bureau (NSB).

Atta Akyea announced that the defence team will not contest the court's decision. They will allow state investigators to finish their work without interference.

On May 2, 2025, the Accra High Court remanded Adu-Boahene. He was sent to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for seven days.

The Attorney General, Dr. Dominic Ayine, requested this remand. He cited concerns that Adu-Boahene might interfere with a key witness in an ongoing case.

Atta Akyea spoke on Citi FM’s Eyewitness News after the ruling. He called the decision not to appeal a strategic choice.

“We will wait,” he said. “That is the sound thing we want to do.” He added they would let investigators find their evidence and meet them in court later.
