The Minority in Parliament has condemned an attempted intimidation of Rev. John Ntim Fordjour. He is the Ranking Member on the Interior and Defence Committee and MP for Assin South. This follows his recent claims about two suspicious flights at Kotoka International Airport. He alleged these flights were carrying drugs and cash.
On April 9, a failed attempt was made to arrest the MP at his home in Accra. Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin spoke to the media afterward. He expressed strong support for their colleague and rejected any intimidation attempts.
Afenyo-Markin described the NIB's actions as politically motivated. He believes they aim to silence dissent within Parliament. The Minority is committed to transparency and accountability regarding the allegations made by Rev. Fordjour.
He insisted that due process must be followed in any investigation. Afenyo-Markin also urged the public to stay alert. He called for support in upholding justice and fairness.
