Weija-Gbawe MP launches 2025 BECE mock examination to boost students' preparedness

The Member of Parliament for Weija-Gbawe, Jerry Ahmed Shaib, has launched the MP's BECE Mock Examination 2025. This initiative aims to improve academic readiness for final-year students in the constituency.

The launch took place at a colorful ceremony. Attendees included the Municipal Director of Education, the Municipal Chief Executive, Queen Mothers of Weija and Gbawe, head teachers, school administrators, parents, and students. Mr. Shaib emphasized that preparation is crucial for academic success.

He quoted Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” He stressed that preparation unlocks students' potential.

The MP’s BECE Mock Examination will offer standardized practice exams. These exams will be marked and assessed by experienced educators. Participation is free for all students to ensure no one is left behind due to financial issues.

Mr. Shaib highlighted challenges faced by many students. He noted that bright learners often underperform without proper exposure and structured exam practice. This initiative aims to level the playing field for all students.

Schools excelling in mock exams and final BECE will receive special awards. This approach promotes healthy competition among schools and motivates both teachers and students.

“This project shows our commitment to our children's future,” Mr. Shaib stated. He acknowledged contributions from the Ghana Education Service, head teachers, teachers, parents, constituency executives, and other stakeholders.

Addressing students directly, he encouraged them to seize this opportunity. He urged them to study hard and believe in their potential: “Prepare well, perform well — mock exams pave the way for excellence.”
