Weija-Gbawe MP launches 2025 BECE mock to boost preparedness

Jerry Ahmed Shaib, the MP for Weija-Gbawe, has launched the MP's BECE Mock Examination 2025. This initiative aims to help final-year Basic Education Certificate Examination candidates prepare academically.

The launch took place on Monday, April 28. It was attended by the Municipal Director of Education, the Municipal Chief Executive, and local Queen Mothers. Head teachers, school administrators, parents, and students were also present.

Mr. Shaib emphasized the importance of preparation for academic success. He quoted Nelson Mandela: “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.”

The mock exams will provide standardized practice tests for every final-year student. These exams will be marked by experienced educators and participation is free. This ensures that financial limitations do not hinder any student.

Mr. Shaib noted that many bright students underperform due to limited exposure and lack of structured practice. The initiative aims to give all students an equal chance to succeed.

Schools that excel in both the mock exams and final BECE will receive special awards. This incentive encourages healthy competition among schools and motivates teachers and students alike.

“This project shows our commitment to our children's future,” Mr. Shaib stated. He thanked the Ghana Education Service, head teachers, teachers, parents, constituency executives, and all stakeholders involved in this initiative.

He urged students to take advantage of this opportunity and work hard. “Prepare well, perform well — mock exams pave the way for excellence,” he advised.
