What I saw as gari and beans was simply gari and water - Muntaka

Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak visited the Kumasi Central Prison. He was shocked by the poor meals served to inmates.

He found the food disheartening and inadequate. Muntaka described a plate of Gari and beans as mostly Gari and water. This lack of proper nourishment surprised him.

His visit aimed to assess conditions in correctional facilities across the country. During his time at the prison, he spoke with several inmates.

However, it was the food situation that troubled him most. Muntaka noted that meals lacked balance and nutrition. The Gari and beans were not sufficient for inmates' needs.

He plans to discuss increasing feeding fees with the President. He believes the current amount is inadequate for each inmate's meals.

The minister is touring the Ashanti Region, engaging with various agencies in his sector.
