What is NPP’s problem? Is the CJ their card-bearing member? – Nana Yaa Jantuah quizzes

Nana Yaa Jantuah, a presidential staffer, criticized the New Patriotic Party (NPP). She spoke out against their planned demonstration. This follows the suspension of Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo.

Jantuah called the demonstration unnecessary. She suggested it reflects the NPP’s boredom.

On Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, she questioned the NPP's motives. She asked if the Chief Justice is even a party member.

She said, “When there is a need for a probe, we must investigate thoroughly.” She added, “What is the NPP’s problem? Is she a card-bearing member or their Women’s Organiser?”

The NPP plans to demonstrate on May 5. They claim there is political interference in the judiciary.

The Chief Justice was suspended after three petitions were filed against her. These petitions established a prima facie case for her removal.

Political parties have condemned this decision. They see it as an attack on judicial independence.

Former CPP General Secretary expressed anger over the situation. She suggested that guilt may motivate the NPP's actions.

She stated, “Everything Ghanaians dislike about her, the NPP supported.” She questioned why they would organize a demonstration otherwise.

“They have nothing to do; I see it as boredom,” she said. “This isn’t the first time someone in an independent body has been probed.”
