Kwaku Ansa-Asare, former Director of the Ghana School of Law, has raised concerns. He warns about the increasing public attacks on the judiciary. He believes these attacks harm the credibility of a key institution in Ghana.
Ansa-Asare spoke about recent criticisms aimed at Chief Justice Gertrude Torkornoo. He noted that this focus could be seen as a political opportunity for some. However, he cautioned that it damages the public image of Ghana’s judicial system.
He stated, “We are tarnishing the image of Ghana’s judiciary.” He emphasized that targeting Justice Torkornoo today could have long-term consequences.
Ansa-Asare added that such actions reflect poorly on the country as a whole. He urged for a reconsideration of how we treat our judicial institutions.
