Col. Festus Aboagye (Rtd), a retired military officer, has responded to Rev. John Ntim Fordjour's claims. Rev. Fordjour, the Assin South MP and Ranking Member of Parliament’s Defence and Interior Committee, alleged that two aircraft landed in Ghana under suspicious circumstances.
Col. Aboagye urged Rev. Fordjour to provide concrete evidence for his statements. He emphasized that vague assertions are not enough, especially from a legislator in such a sensitive role.
In an interview on TV3’s The KeyPoints, Col. Aboagye questioned how the MP shared this information. He stated that someone of Rev. Fordjour's stature should contact security agencies first.
“If there is a credible threat to our security, he should inform state structures,” Col. Aboagye said.
He pointed out that Rev. Fordjour does not work at Kotoka International Airport, where the incident allegedly occurred. This raises questions about the source of his information.
“We know he doesn’t work there,” Col. Aboagye noted. “Who informed him? Was it a security agency or someone else?”
He called for clarity on who provided the information to Rev. Fordjour.
Col. Aboagye also stressed that the MP needs to move beyond insinuations and provide specific details about the intelligence he received.
“He must give us better particulars of what he knows,” he said, urging transparency from the lawmaker regarding his sources and claims.
