Why NPP lost 2024: General Secretary opens up on Mike Oquaye Report

The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Frimpong Kodua, has shared some insights about the Mike Oquaye Committee's report. This committee looked into why the NPP lost the 2024 elections.

During meetings with NPP stakeholders in the Western Region, he spoke on the party’s Thank You Tour led by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. He mentioned that details of the report would remain private for “strategic reasons.”

However, he emphasized that party stakeholders need to know certain aspects of the report. This includes understanding some reasons behind the party's defeat.

Mr. Kodua highlighted key issues identified in the report. These included government failures to prioritize projects in strongholds and poor relationships between government and party members.

He also pointed out problems like arrogance of power and internal conflicts within the party. The audience agreed with these points, echoing sentiments from the Prof Oquaye Committee's findings.

Mr. Kodua stressed that implementing these recommendations is crucial for success. He announced that a Constitutional Review Committee has been formed and encouraged party members to submit their proposals.
