Mark Okraku-Mantey, the former Deputy Minister of Tourism, has criticized Abeiku Santana. He claims there is a clear conflict of interest.
Okraku-Mantey spoke on Joy FM, as reported by MyNewsGh. He expressed surprise that Santana still hosts a show at Okay FM. This is despite his role at the Ghana Tourism Authority.
“Why is Abeiku Santana going on air?” he asked. “He holds a public office and works at Okay FM.”
He noted that Santana uses office hours for his radio work. Okraku-Mantey emphasized that this practice raises concerns.
Although he hasn't reviewed specific laws, he believes they are clear. “You cannot use office hours to do any other job,” he stated.
He suggested that Santana could host a weekly tourism show instead. This should be done pro bono, focusing on tourism or culture.
