Why is the OSP declaring Ofori-Atta wanted without adding a bounty – Franklin Cudjoe

Franklin Cudjoe is the President of IMANI Africa. He has questioned the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP). He sarcastically asked why they declared former finance minister Ken Ofori-Atta wanted without a bounty.

Cudjoe referenced cowboy movies, where bounties are common. He wrote on X, “I wonder why the OSP is declaring persons wanted without adding a bounty.” He suggested a fictional bounty of $58,000 for Ofori-Atta.

His comments follow the OSP's rejection of Ofori-Atta’s request for a virtual session. Kissi Agyebeng stated that he must appear in person at the OSP. Agyebeng emphasized that they have always requested his physical attendance.

He added, “A suspect does not choose how investigations are conducted.” The Special Prosecutor also mentioned initiating an INTERPOL red notice for Ofori-Atta. This could lead to international arrest and extradition.

Agyebeng revealed this process was triggered shortly before his statement. The OSP has accused Ofori-Atta of causing financial loss to the state. This includes issues related to the National Cathedral and contracts with various entities.
