Eight students from Winneba Technical Institute are under investigation. They appeared in a viral video showing them with weapons. The video reportedly shows them on campus, holding knives and scissors.
The school has faced criticism after the video spread online. Stephen Yaw Asare, the Assistant Administrator, spoke to Citi News. He confirmed that investigations are ongoing to identify all students involved.
Asare mentioned that the school may punish those found guilty. This action aims to deter other students from similar behavior. He stated, “We gathered the students and identified some of them.”
After questioning, it was revealed they acted for fun. However, due to the video's nature, action is necessary. When asked about weapon access on campus, Asare noted routine inspections occur.
Despite this, students often find ways to bypass security measures. He urged parents to search their children before they come to school.
