Mrs. Rayne Nana Serwah Axim has petitioned President Akufo-Addo for the removal of Justice Afia Serwah Asare-Botwe from her position as an Appeals Court judge, citing misconduct in handling her husband’s bail appeal.

Mr. Daniel Axim, former Operations Manager of MASLOC, was convicted and sentenced to five years in prison for offences related to his role at MASLOC.

Mrs. Axim claims that during the bail hearing on October 17, 2024, Justice Asare-Botwe behaved inappropriately by sending messages to state prosecutors, leaving the courtroom multiple times to make calls, and allegedly collaborating with prosecutors to ensure her husband’s continued imprisonment.

Mrs. Axim is seeking the judge’s removal for breaching judicial impartiality.
