Wontumi Moved to NIB Headquarters Amid Protests
Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, has been moved. He is now at the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) headquarters in Ridge. This transfer comes during his ongoing detention.
The move has led to a gathering of New Patriotic Party (NPP) leaders and supporters. Protesters have blocked the road to the Bureau's office. Police are working to restore order in the area.
Dr. Bawumia is expected to lead efforts for Wontumi's bail. Wontumi was first arrested by EOCO on Tuesday, May 27. This occurred after he left police questioning.
