Wontumi withdraws motion to review GH¢50m bail conditions

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, known as Chairman Wontumi, is the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the NPP. He has withdrawn his motion about his bail conditions.

This motion was filed at the High Court in Accra on May 30, 2025. It was set to be heard on June 3. However, his legal team withdrew it on June 2.

Chairman Wontumi wanted a review of his GH¢50 million bail. He argued that this amount was excessive and could delay his release.

He has been in EOCO custody since May 28, 2025. He faces allegations of fraud, financial loss to the state, and money laundering.

Deputy Attorney General Justice Srem-Sai stated that investigations link Wontumi to an international crime syndicate.
