Work to transform GRA into model of excellence - Veep

Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang urged newly commissioned officers of the Customs Division of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) to work hard. She wants them to transform the organization into a model of excellence in Africa and beyond.

She emphasized that the division is crucial for the country’s revenue mobilization. Therefore, it needs to improve its operations.

The Vice President's message was delivered by Alex Segbefia, Chief of Staff at her office. He spoke during the commissioning ceremony for 203 Cadet Officers. This event took place at Kpetoe in the Agortime-Ziope District of the Volta Region on Friday.

Mr. Segbefia also inspected a guard of honor during the ceremony.

In her speech, she challenged the new officers to be transformative leaders. "You will face challenges ahead," she said, "but your work strengthens our nation." She added that Ghana's self-reliance starts with public servants who understand their impact on national development.
