Work towards promoting peace in Bawku - Neeyi Ghartey

The Chancellor of the University of Education, Winneba (UEW), Neenyi Ghartey VII, has made an appeal. He urged all Ghanaians to promote peace in Bawku and nearby areas. Ongoing conflict there has harmed lives, education, and livelihoods.

He encouraged the youth to avoid violence. Instead, they should become agents of unity and development. He stated, “Let the guns go silent. Let peace speak louder in Bawku.” He emphasized that we cannot educate a nation while part of it burns.

Neenyi Ghartey VII is also the Paramount Chief of the Effutu Traditional Area in the Central Region. He made this call during UEW's 29th congregation on Saturday.

During this event, a total of 6,769 students graduated. This included 503 postgraduates, with 28 PhDs awarded. Additionally, there were 5,958 undergraduate students from the School of Graduate Studies and CODeL. The graduation ceremony took place over four days.
