World Vision International has donated $30,000 in medical supplies to the Agortime Ziope Health Directorate. This donation aims to improve healthcare delivery in the Volta Region.
The supplies include critical items for local health professionals and facilities. They will help address the health and nutritional needs of children in the district.
This effort aligns with World Vision's mission to ensure every child experiences life fully. The organization has worked in Ghana for 45 years, making progress in various sectors.
These sectors include water, sanitation, hygiene (WASH), health, nutrition, education, and livelihood empowerment. World Vision has been active in Agortime Ziope for five years, collaborating with local stakeholders.
At a handover ceremony, Eric Opoku Agyarko explained the donation's purpose. He is the Cluster Programmes Manager at World Vision. He stated that it supports child well-being through improved health systems.
Agyarko emphasized that children's well-being relies on equipping service providers with necessary tools. The donation includes general medical supplies and laboratory equipment.
Emmanuel Awine Ayamga is the District Director of Health Services. He expressed gratitude for the timely support and its potential impact on primary healthcare delivery.
Ayamga noted that this support would significantly benefit children and vulnerable populations. He encouraged other organizations to follow World Vision’s example.
The District Health Directorate also called on individuals and NGOs to support rural health systems. The donated supplies are expected to enhance healthcare delivery across the district and improve health outcomes for children.
