The Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has teamed up with the Ghana National Fire Service. This partnership aims to create jobs for young Ghanaians and improve fire response efforts.
A new one-year agreement will recruit and train 5,000 youth as Fire Assistants nationwide.
This announcement was made on Friday, May 3, 2025. It follows a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organizations.
The YEA stated that this collaboration is part of a larger plan. The goal is to reduce youth unemployment by partnering with key state agencies.
Malik Basintale, CEO of the YEA, signed the agreement. The Minister for the Interior and the Minister for Youth Development also attended to show government support for youth empowerment and public safety.
Under this arrangement, the Ghana National Fire Service will train and supervise recruits. After training, they will be posted across the country.
