YFM to broadcast BBC World Service news programme for young audiences in Ghana - Ghanaian Times

Global Media Alliance's YFM and BBC World Service have formed a partnership. They will deliver the news program "The World in 2 Minutes" to YFM listeners.

The program will air on YFM stations in Accra (107.9 FM), Kumasi (102.5 FM), and Takoradi (97.9 FM). This area is known as the Y Triangle. The broadcast starts on March 31, 2025.

"The World in 2 Minutes" will air hourly from 6 AM to 6 PM daily. It will provide brief updates on major global events. This collaboration aims to improve news access for YFM's audience while keeping its youth-focused programming.

Dr. Timothy Karikari, Director of Broadcasting at Global Media Alliance Group, commented on the partnership. He noted that YFM is a leading youth platform that focuses on music over talk. He believes "The World in 2 Minutes" will keep listeners informed in an enjoyable format.
